Director of Quality

We are currently assisting our client with a Director of Quality search based near Cleveland, OH. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the Director will be responsible for ensuring company and customer quality requirements are met and will lead teams to provide the highest levels of value to the business that quality can deliver. Furthermore, this role will be responsible for maintaining effective environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) prevention/conservation programs and driving safety culture throughout organization. This is a highly visible, high impact position that will allow the opportunity to play a decisive role in the future success and growth of this organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Drive the quality mindset of the entire business in all areas including product design, sourcing, supply chain, manufacturing, distribution, customer service and all supporting functions
  • Guide and promote employee safety performance by developing safety systems, policies and procedures, safety campaigns, and programs to eliminate, prevent and control workplace injuries; create a world-class safety culture by using behavioral safety methods to motivate and influence leaders and employees
  • Support facilities in implementing and sustaining EHS programs and procedures by ensuring resources, tools and knowledge are available to control EHS issues arising from processes, equipment, or materials
  • Lead the development of employees in the quality team through training, employee meetings, and setting and meeting performance expectations
  • Frequent travel to all major company locations, external suppliers and key customers to provide leadership and assure systems are operating effectively
  • Support organization to effectively manage safety incidents and follow-up response; ensure that incidents, near-misses and any compliance deviations are fully investigated with operations to ensure that corrective and/or preventive measures are taken based on root cause analysis
  • Achieve financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions
  • Identify the appropriate metrics & KPIs to measure internal & customer quality outcomes & processes
  • Lead the development of employees in the quality team through training, employee meetings, and setting and meeting performance expectations
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s in Engineering or related field required, Master’s preferred
  • 7+ years’ of Quality/EHS Leadership experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Demonstrated success in designing and implementing company-wide quality policies, structure, systems, and EHS procedures
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally in a matrixed manufacturing environment
