Vice President of Finance

We are currently assisting our client with a Vice President of Finance search near Detroit, MI. This position will operate as a business leader with strong initiative and commitment to continuous improvement. The VP of Finance will drive business financially to balance achievement of short term shareholder expectations with long term strategic profitable growth targets. This is a highly visible, high impact position where a successful candidate will have the opportunity to play a decisive role in the future success and growth of the organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversees and directs treasury, budgeting, audit, tax, legal, accounting, purchasing, long range forecasting, retirement plans, capital spending and insurance activities for the organization
  • Establishes procedures and IT function necessary to ensure contribution to financial planning and analysis across the Company, including upgrading systems to drive efficiency and establishing metrics and processes to ensure continual improvement to the organization
  • Performs treasurer activities such as custodian of funds, securities, and assets of the organization
  • Prudently manages the Company’s balance sheet including cash flow, capital investments, working capital and debt
  • Appraises the organization’s financial position and issues periodic reports on organization’s financial stability, liquidity, and growth
  • Provides support for the business with timely, accurate reporting and actionable information to guide business decisions
  • Directs and analyzes studies of general economic, business, and financial conditions and their impact on the organization’s policies and current and future operations
 Requirements:
  • BS Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent; MBA or CPA is a plus
  • Strong leadership and presentation skills, and the ability to explain and communicate financial results to management in an understandable and actionable format for decision-making purposes
  • 7+ years’ experience Financial Operations Controllership in a manufacturing environment
  • Demonstrated track record of building trust and operating effectively within a dynamic and changing organization
