Michael Sokolowski is an Executive Recruiter with Ciresi Morek, joining in October 2021. While at Youngstown State University, he served as Team Manager for the men’s basketball team. In this role, he had the opportunity to travel the country while assisting in the Penguins’ practice preparation as well as readiness for every game.

As an Executive Recruiter, Michael has worked on a variety of roles ranging from Engineers to Vice Presidents, and continues to expand his horizons and not be limited to any one area of focus. He accepts any challenge and works diligently to understand each and every role so that he can gain expertise and become a great resource to his coworkers, candidates, and clients.

“There are multiple things I enjoy working in the recruiting industry, first thing that comes to my mind is the satisfaction of helping clients fill a role within their organization. But to me, there is no better feeling then being able to help out a candidate’s career on a professional and personal level. Recruiting is like a puzzle that is everchanging, not one day is the same. That is another big reason why this industry is so fun to be in. It keeps you aware and on your toes at all times trying to find the next client that needs my assistance or the next candidate that needs my guidance.”

Recruiting was something Michael was always very interested in growing up, his father was in the headhunting world for over 20 years. When everyone asked Michael what he wanted to do when he grew up, he always said “I want to do what dad does, be a headhunter.” Here he is today and hasn’t looked back since.

Michael has been in the recruiting industry for over three years and came in with limited experience in both the recruiting industry and the manufacturing industry. But he was determined to understand every aspect of these businesses in order to position himself as a valuable resource. His multiple successful placements are evidence that he is well on his way to mastering the field.

Michael attended Youngstown State University and is working towards his bachelor’s degree this fall. He currently spends most of his free time out on the golf course, trying to improve his game. Over the past two years, he has become an avid golfer, attempting to play multiple times a week – a frequency that some claim is too much! When he isn’t working or playing golf, he is spending quality time with his family and friends by watching sports, hanging out, or going to grab a bite to eat.
